Larger drives are increasingly part of our business, with our involvement in industrial, renewable and mobile applications. The existing HDO and HDP “heavy duty” products offer parallel and right angled high torque configurations.

The planetary 300 series has two new additions; the 323 and 325 are now available with nominal torque outputs of 800,000 Nm and 1,100,000 Nm respectively. The units are both available with either hollow splined or hollow shaft with shrink disc outputs.

The Planetary with splined output can be driven by electric or hydraulic motors with standard fittings or with a male input shaft.

With various reduction ratios in single stage of 4.4:1 up to quadruple stages offering 1279:1. By adding additional stages, virtually any high ratio is easily possible.

The 300 planetary gear series is compact, and yet extremely powerful. This makes them the ideal choice for all the severe duty applications where shock loadings and impacts are more the rule than the exception.apron feeder with planetary and HDO The torque being transmitted at any time is shared between multiple sets of teeth on the primary drive pinion, thus sharing the torque and resultant forces. The planetary arrangement facilitates multiple reduction stages in a very compact space. These can be achieved because each reduction stage adds only a small increase in length.

The product configuration is highly versatile, due to several options as far as the mounting, the gear layout, the output shaft and the motor interface. All the features are available for each of the 18 finely spaced casing sizes, spanning over the 1.000 - 1.100.000 Nm torque range.

This is not to say that planetaries are the ideal gearbox in every situation. And as a producer of a full complimentary range of gearboxes - from the smallest worm boxes up to the largest 1,100,000Nm planetaries - we at Bonfiglioli appreciate that there is more than one gearbox technology.
